TJATJA

We are now back in South Africa and we look back on a very successful project. Of course, this is largely due to the group of generous donors. Together, no less than € 28,506.45 was donated to the HelpHimba account. Fantastic and beyond all expectations! In this way we have been able to help thousands of Himba people, including many children, in their harsh lives. Once again thanks for the contributions.

We would also like to thank

Ellen Horlebein for the contacts she made.

Urs Gabathuler for making his truck available.

Floh Kaurianga and Germaine for coordinating distribution in the Okangwati area.

Jana and Gerrit Schoeman (Spar Kunene) for packaging and transporting tons of aid.

Juanine Tjambiru for her advice and coordinating distribution in the Epupa area.

Manuel Veturika for coordinating and distributing the school supplies in Ehomba.

Rose Tjitombo for guiding and distributing food to many school children in the Kunene region.

Jordi Soeters for organizing a number of auctions, of which all proceeds went to HelpHimba.

Joost Bloom (Interweave) for building and maintaining the website.

All porters, drivers, guards who made sure your goods arrived safely at the right places.

The police officer who waived our speeding ticket, because he really appreciated the HelpHimba campaign.

It was an unforgettable experience, among other things, to give

5590 kilos of rice,

8135 kilos of flour,

828 kilos of pasta,

1385 kilos of sugar,

512 kilos of salt,

1365 liters of oil,

578 kilos of corned beef,

50 kilos of baby food,

39 kilos of pasta sauce,

700 kilos of baked beans,

403 kilos of instant soup,

1150 apples,

100 pairs of flip-flops,

170 toothbrushes with toothpaste

and to be able to distribute thousands of euros worth of school supplies, seeds, sanitary pads, etc.

The gratitude of so many people is forever burned into our minds. For the time being, we are closing our blog, but we are continuing to work on the Soup Kitchen project.

It was great for the Himba people, but a great pity for the bow. Because nothing stuck to it at all.
